CURIA & SAN JOSE ECUADOR surf team
My “surf team” needs HELP! We have been “adopted” by a small town in Ecuador. Curia and San Jose are very small native Ecuadorian villages. The people are poor and the children there do not have much of a future. One thing they do have is one of the most beautiful beaches in Ecuador in their front yard.
Everyday we would be surfing these kids would come out with us on whatever they had. Mostly beat up old Boogie boards. They always knew where the “rips” were and how to get into the waves in the “right” spots. They always had big smiles on their faces and would stay out for hours.
The only thing keeping them from becoming “real” surfers is SURFBOARDS and all the “stuff” needed to get em going. My friend “Rasty” from the Balsa House in Montanita Ecuador donated 2 boards that have been in continuos use. BUT there are about 25 boys and girls that are ready to start surfing. Surfboards are a very expensive item for these kids.
Surfing can open up a whole new world for these kids. Rasty has a hotel and surfboard factory plus he has surf camps that give lessons. He wants to train some of them as instructors $$. But they have to know how to surf. They can not surf if they do not have the “stuff”.
If you have an old surfboard that is gathering dust, old leashes, rash guards etc that you would like to see get put to a GOOD use contact me. These items are going to be given, NOT SOLD to the “Comuna’s”. Thanks Albert “ACE” Elliott 619 523 2268 email obaceman@yahoo.com
IF you would like to make a financial contribution to help offset the costs of shipping the equipment to “My team” click on the button, thanks ACE
